LA DOTD Chooses eSignLive' Electronic Signature Solution

April 3, 2007

Montreal, QC, April 4, 2007 — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD) is advancing several e-government initiatives by using electronic signature solutions from Silanis to sign a growing number of internal and external documents, Silanis announced today.

As the state government organization serving the transportation and water resource needs of over 4 million residents, LA DOTD recognized the requirement for e-signatures several years ago. Having recently purchasing Silanis' ApproveIt® Desktop, the forward-thinking department has begun electronically signing water well permits, and intends to expand the use of electronic signatures to include several other applications.

"We already offer an online bidding system, which our contractors have embraced," said Dominic Cali, LA DOTD's director, Information Technology. "We would eventually like to make that process entirely electronic."

As the world's most experienced provider of e-signatures, Silanis' established track record at all government levels has made it the provider of choice for many. LA DOTD selected Silanis following implementation of ApproveIt Desktop by the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), which has since cut the time required to process highway access permits by 60 per cent.

"We are proud to be working with LA DOTD to reduce its reliance on paper," said Richard L. Warren, chief executive officer, Silanis. "As a leader in e-government, we are working to help improve responsiveness, and increase operational efficiency by streamlining processes."

Silanis' award-winning, flexible technology helps to eliminate the inefficiencies and cost of paper from daily business. It also provides reliable and auditable business records needed to comply with applicable laws, standards, regulations and policies. It can be used in PKI and non-PKI environments.

Finally, Silanis' ApproveIt Desktop allows its users to apply secure e-signatures within e-mail, workflow, content management and other software business applications - effectively removing the last barrier to full end-to-end automation.
