eSignLive Presents eMortgage Solutions at NIST PKI Workshop

May 10, 2007

The focus of this year's event, the sixth of its kind, was to balance ease of use and making security features evident through all layers of software.

Montreal, QC, May 11, 2007 — Silanis Technology was pleased to participate in this year's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) R&D workshop on April 17 in Gaithersburg, MD.

Francois Leblanc, director, Professional Services, shared Silanis' eMortgage expertise with a presentation and as part of a distinguished panel moderated by R. J. Schlecht of the Mortgage Bankers Association.

The focus of this year's event, the sixth of its kind, was to balance ease of use and making security features evident through all layers of software.

"One of my messages was that the eMortgage process does use digital signatures and digital certificates today," said Mr. Leblanc.

"They are simply not apparent to end users because PKI technology is leveraged - and mostly hidden -- by signature platforms and portals like Silanis' and Stewart's."

Silanis and Stewart Title Co. co-developed the eClosingRoom™, integrated with the SureClose® online transaction management system-- together, forming the first system to handle all real estate closing documents electronically.

Jointly sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), NIST and Internet2, in cooperation with the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS), this key event for various companies and standards bodies interested in PKI engendered lively discussions, and provided an opportunity to demonstrate actual PKI implementations in the business world.
