September 4, 2002

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois and BRUSSELS, Belgium – September 4, 2002 – VASCO (Nasdaq NM & Nasdaq Europe: VDSI; www.vasco.com), a global provider of enterprise-wide security products that support e-business and e-commerce, today announced that it has closed a partnership agreement with Miel (www.miel.fr), a leading French distributor of Citrix and Netscreen. Miel delivers products to over 200 resellers in France. VASCO and Miel joining forces in France means a new step in the growth of VASCO’s French partner network. After signing up with E92 Plus (United Kingdom) in the second quarter of 2002, VASCO today increases its position in the French corporate network access market by joining forces with Miel, and adds an important chapter to the extension of VASCO’s worldwide network of leading distributors.

VASCO expects that the partnership will open substantial new business opportunities in the French corporate access sector for its Digipass and VACMAN products. VASCO already has a strong customer base in France, securing customers in the banking, governmental small and industry sectors. VASCO expects that the access to Miel's 200 resellers, together with the potential customer base of over 1,6 million Citrix end users in France, will strongly reinforce its position in France, one of the biggest European IT and security markets.

The partnership between Miel and VASCO makes strong authentication more easily available for the end user in France. Via Miel’s extensive reseller network, VASCO’s products will have a stronger presence nationwide. The flexible, value-for-money and high quality VASCO products can easily be implemented in existing systems and integrated in new offerings, which is ideal to secure the users of open networks, like the solutions of VASCO’s partners Citrix and Netscreen.

The bundling of Miel’s Citrix and Netscreen products with VASCO’s Digipass and VACMAN, offers an extra layer of security to existing and future users. VACMAN Server for Citrix and Digipass Starter Pack are ideally suited for Miel’s customers.

VACMAN Server for Citrix provides strong two-factor authentication via an AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) based solution for users of Citrix Nfuse. VASCO proposes Digipass Go 1 to be used together with the VACMAN Server. Other models of Digipass can be used too, since VACMAN Server for Citrix Nfuse supports all Digipass models. The Digipass Starter Pack allows the resellers' customers, and specifically medium sized enterprises, to strengthen the security of their existing security infrastructures by adding VASCO's strong user authentication. The Digipass Starters Pack is fully interoperable with technologies of VASCO's Solution Partners (including Citrix and Netscreen), in the corporate networking area. The pack consists of 10 units of Digipass Go 1 and a Vacman Radius Middleware (VRM) licence.
