OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill., and BRUSSELS, Belgium, June 19, 2003 - VASCO Data Security International, Inc. (Nasdaq: VDSI (http://www.vasco.com)), a global provider of strong user authentication security products that enable e-business and e-commerce, today announced that it has launched Digipass for Windows 4.0, a software Digipass token to be installed on PCs and laptops.
Digipass for Windows 4.0 is especially suited for enterprises wanting to give their mobile workers the opportunity to have secure remote access to the company’s network. VASCO has also integrated Digipass for Windows 4.0 into its successful Digipass Pack, a bundling of VASCO’s Digipass and VACMAN Radius Middleware, designed to be easily implemented with leading security products of VASCO’s Solution Partners.
Digipass for Windows 4.0 creates single-use passwords that are time or event configurable. The product is extremely easy to use and to integrate. Digipass for Windows 4.0 can be activated with one click of the mouse. Supported platforms are Microsoft Windows 98/NT/2000 Professional/ME/XP.
- Remote user authentication with one-time password or challenge/response;
- E-signature capabilities for securing and verifying on-line transactions;
- Compatible with all Digipass models and server tools;
- Multiple profile support;
- Integrated in Digipass Pack.
“Digipass for Windows 4.0 is an important member of our Digipass family for corporate network access,” said Jan Valcke, VASCO’s President and COO. “Companies can use several Digipass models on multiple platforms for their remote workers. All Digipass models are interoperable. We foresee that more and more companies all over the world will combine the use of Digipass hardware tokens, the server based Digipass Authentication Server and Digipass for Windows 4.0 in one and the same system, depending on the needs of the end user.”
About VASCO: VASCO designs, develops, markets and supports patented “Identity Authentication” products for e-business and e-commerce. VASCO’s Identity Authentication software is delivered via its Digipass security products, small “calculator” hardware devices carried by an end user, or in a software format on mobile phones, other portable devices, and PCs. For user access control, VASCO’s VACMAN products guarantee that only designated Digipass users get access to the application. VASCO’s target markets are the applications and their several hundred million users that utilize fixed passwords as security. VASCO’s time-based system generates a “one-time” password that changes with every use, and is virtually impossible to hack, or break. With 10 million Digipass products sold and ordered, VASCO has established itself as a world-leader for strong Identity Authentication with 200 international financial institutions, approximately 1000 blue-chip corporations, and governments representing more than 50 countries.
