Virginia Heritage Bank secures cash management solution and employee access with VASCO DIGIPASS

February 3, 2010

Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, Zurich, Switzerland, February 3, 2010 VASCO Data Security Inc. (Nasdaq: VDSI; www.vasco.com), a leading software security company specializing in authentication products today announced that Virginia Heritage Bank, a community bank in Northern Virginia focusing on the banking needs of individuals, families and businesses in the local community, first secured its cash management solution and now also secures the employee access to critical information with VASCO DIGIPASS®.

Virginia Heritage Bank is a full-service community bank, located in Northern Virginia with offices in Fairfax City, Chantilly, Tysons and Gainesville. For its cash management needs, Virginia Heritage Banks uses VASCO’s VACMAN Controller core authentication platform natively integrated in the cash management solution, offering authentication and digital signature functionality to the end-users.

To its employees, Virginia Heritage Bank provides secure remote access to the corporate network and Citrix applications. To secure these channels, the bank has purchased the DIGIPASS® Pack for Remote Authentication from VASCO and has deployed it to over 100 employees. The DIGIPASS Pack ensures that any user logging onto the corporate network or application is properly authenticated, thereby confirming their identity and enhancing the overall security.
“Through our cash management solution, we were already familiar with DIGIPASS. We evaluated a number of competitive products and finally decided that the solution VASCO provided was the best choice for us, considering the experience we already had”, says Joseph F. Timko, Chief Technology Officer at Virginia Heritage Bank.
“We are glad to see that banks not only secure their customer facing solutions, such as their cash management systems, but also secure the access to critical information and applications for employees. In doing so, Virginia Heritage Bank sets a nice example for the financial sector.” says Jan Valcke, President and COO at VASCO Data Security.
