Deloitte and eSignLive Partner to Deliver E-Signature Solutions In South Africa
Partnership combines technology with business process expertise for paperless processes
Montreal, November 23, 2004 — Silanis Technology, the market leader in automating business approval processes, and Deloitte, the only fully integrated business consulting and advisory service firm, globally and in South Africa, today announced a partnership to deliver electronic signature solutions. Under this partnership, Deloitte becomes the exclusive distributor for Silanis’ ApproveIt Web Server product to the South African commercial market.
The ApproveIt Web Server is the premier product for bringing electronic approvals onto the web. From presenting documents for review and approval, to capturing consumer signatures and consent on transactions and contracts to secure delivery, the ApproveIt Web Server provides both ease-of-use and strong digital evidence to ensure legal enforceability.

Deloitte’s plan is to leverage the technology to assist clients to automate business transactions such as new account openings, loan origination and closings, consumer contracts for cell phones, and vehicle asset finance applications.
The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, passed in 2002 (ECT Act), was the first legislative step in South Africa for completely enabling e-business and e-commerce. The Act aids existing legislation to legally recognize electronic signatures and contracts, providing them with the same legal enforceability as paper contracts.
