September 20, 2000

BRUSSELS, Belgium – September 19, 2000 – VASCO (NASDAQ & EASDAQ: VDSI; www.vasco.com), a global provider of enterprise-wide security solutions, announced today that Renault-Mais, the largest automotive manufacturer in Turkey with over 2000 employees, has selected VASCO’s Digipass™ authentication technology to protect employee remote access to the company’s network. Renault-Mais is relying on VASCO partner Biltam, a leading systems integrator and provider of security services, to integrate VASCO technology into the Renault-Mais security solution. With Digipass strong user authentication, Renault-Mais is assured that only authorized users can access sensitive company information.

“We’re pleased with the effectiveness and low total cost of ownership of the Digipass security technology, as well as the security expertise of Biltam,” said Mr Oouzhan Yildiz, Network Engineer for Renault-Mais. “Now, managers and employees who need access to vital information can do so from home or while traveling, easily and securely.”

Authorized Renault-Mais employees can now access the company’s corporate database and Lotus Notes server, allowing them to communicate effectively and securely from any location. With a direct connection to Renault headquarters in France, Renault-Mais also allows any employee with a Digipass to access the corporate Intranet remotely, due to the high level of security provided.

"Renault-Mais demonstrates that VASCO is aggressively expanding its sales reach around the world, and in the rapidly growing area of remote access security," noted Jan Valcke, Vice President and General Manager of VASCO. "We expect other companies in Turkey to follow the lead of Renault-Mais and turn to VASCO for their remote access security needs."
