June 5, 2002

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois and BRUSSELS, Belgium – June 5, 2002 – VASCO (Nasdaq NM & Nasdaq Europe: VDSI; www.vasco.com), a global provider of enterprise-wide security products that support e-business and e-commerce, today announced that it has joined the Cisco AVVID (Architecture for Voice and Video Integrated Data) Partner Program as a Security and Virtual Private Network (VPN) Solutions member. With Cisco AVVID partner offerings, customers can now deploy Digipass Pro 300 v1.2, including the VACMAN Radius Middleware functionality, with the Cisco PIX Firewall family running version 6.1(2) and Cisco Access Control Server (ACS) version 3.0 to provide enhanced AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Administration) security to enterprise customers. VASCO Digipass tokens replace unsafe static password authentication with more secure, random one-time passwords to ensure that remote network access does not become the weakest link in a secure network

The Cisco AVVID Partner Program sets criteria for interoperability testing by independent third parties and is a co-marketing program enabling leading product and services firms to deploy innovative e-business solutions. The program provides enterprise customers with information regarding Cisco AVVID Partner products and services, which an independent testing facility has tested, verified and found to interoperate with a specified version of Cisco networking technology, within the SAFE security blueprint. The SAFE security blueprint provides a comprehensive security strategy for Cisco AVVID networks and utilizes the critical security technologies required to mitigate threats throughout an enterprise’s e-business infrastructure.

“Achieving the AVVID Partner Program requirements for interoperability opens substantial business opportunities for VASCO in corporate networking and remote access environments,” said Jan Valcke, executive vice president of Sales and Marketing for VASCO. “Our products, Digipass 300 and VACMAN Radius Middleware, can easily be implemented with these Cisco security solutions to provide strong authentication, authorization and administration to any customer who wishes to adhere to the Cisco SAFE blueprint.”

“Vasco and Cisco support open, standards-based architectures and share a commitment to providing interoperable security solutions. Through this vision, the Cisco AVVID Partner Program delivers the power of choice to enterprises -- the ability to extend the Cisco end-to-end architecture with our members’ world-class products and technologies,” said Greg Mayfield, manager of market and business development at Cisco Systems. “With Cisco AVVID partner offerings such as Vasco’s Digipass Pro and VACMAN products, customers can deploy a broad range of e-business solutions that help drive the rapid adoption of secure business-critical technologies.”
