What’s your role at OneSpan?
I’m a senior software architect, I help make software design decisions with our team of engineers across OneSpan’s cloud-based solutions. I’m currently working on a project that involves building microservices that will be used across OneSpan product lines, and I recently took on this new role after having been a software developer at OneSpan.
What’s your favorite part of your job and what do you like about working at OneSpan?
The people and the technology are the heart of the company. I’m what some call a “boomerang” employee – after working at OneSpan for several years, I decided to take on a new challenge elsewhere. But it was OneSpan’s size and global operations that brought me back. OneSpan is a good-sized company – not too big yet past the startup phase. Here, I feel that my work within software development makes an impact on the organization and its customers.
The opening of OneSpan’s new office in downtown Montreal last November also drew me back. Once I heard our office was moving from the suburbs into the city, I immediately reached out to my old manager to apply for the open software developer position.
What motivates you at work?
Working with interesting technology that solves a particular problem. I believe in the ability of our software solutions to benefit customers through the digitization and transformation of their businesses. My role enables me to work both with different teams and independently, which I enjoy.
What qualities do people need to be successful at OneSpan?

What are your hobbies and interests outside of OneSpan?
Aside from my passion in technology, rock climbing is a big part of my life. I’m originally from New Zealand and met my girlfriend at a rock climbing gym there. We moved to Canada almost nine years ago, and I still manage to get to the rock gym in between raising our two young girls.
