HIGHLIGHTS

Cronto Image
  • Digipass 760 works with a patented technology whereby a Cronto image is displayed on the bank’s website. This graphical cryptogram consists of a matrix of colored dots which are displayed on the enduser’s screen. Account holders can simply “scan” the image with Digipass 760 and verify the transaction details on a trusted display.

Online transactions are scrutinized by hackers who want to turn the e-transaction to their benefit. Fraud schemes are becoming more and more sophisticated, such as man-in-the-middle and man-in-the-browser attacks. Banks are therefore increasingly adopting defense mechanisms using electronic transaction signing. OneSpan is a leading provider of strong authentication solutions, helping financial institutions and other organizations worldwide to effectively combat online fraud. OneSpan’s solutions help financial transactions to ensure the authenticity of transactions while authenticating the users who initiate them.

Digipass 760 is an innovative authentication device that protects online banking services against malicious attacks by allowing the bank to establish a secure optical communication channel with the client. As it is a standalone device that is not connected with the computer or network, security threats and portability issues are eliminated.

How does it work?

Digipass 760 utilizes a unique visual challenge contained in a graphical cryptogram. Account holders enter their transaction details on the bank’s website. These details are then encrypted and presented as a graphical cryptogram on the user’s computer or tablet. Users simply “scan” this image with the Digipass 760’s built-in camera.

Digipass 760 instantly captures and decrypts the colored cryptogram and the transaction details are presented on the Digipass color display for user verification. A signature is then generated on Digipass 760 which the user enters on the bank’s website to confirm the transaction.

Digipass 760 enhances user-convenience by reducing the level of user interaction when signing Internet transactions. Through the built in camera; encrypted data from the PC display are automatically transferred to Digipass 760. The colored display offers an added visual convenience. The optical interface does not require any software or driver to be installed on the end user’s PC.

What you see is what you sign

Digipass 760 offers an ultimate user experience with its WYSIWYS feature. The solution is ideally suited for banks looking to use e-signatures to secure online transactions without compromising on user-friendliness. The user doesn’t need to type any transaction details into the device as all data are captured throught the Cronto image.

The two-step activation makes this device easy to deploy as it can be distributed without containing any Digipass secrets. The user simply activates his Digipass with the activation code which is sent to him by mail and then registers his device online by capturing the Cronto activation code.

Digipass 760 also offers the possibility of free text delivery. As such Digipass 760 is a future proof devices as it allows banks to add different applications in the future.
