New release of ApproveIt Web Server from eSignLive Offers Enhanced Document Support

June 13, 2010
Montreal, QC, June 15, 2010 - Silanis Technology today released a new version of its next-generation,e-signature process management solution

. Version 3.8 of ApproveIt Web Server is now available with new support for Adobe XML Forms Architecture (XFA), Microsoft Word (.doc) and OpenDocument (.odt) documents formats, and pagination. The new features provide organizations in financial services, insurance and government more flexibility when integrating electronic signatures into their business processes, while also enhancing the user experience to ensure high adoption. Adobe XML Forms Architecture ApproveIt Web Server’s new support for the Adobe XML Forms Architecture (XFA) enables organizations to take advantage of the powerful data and business logic capabilities of XML with the rich presentation capabilities of Adobe® Portable Document Format (PDF) during signing processes. With this capability comes support for Adobe XFA sectional signing. This allows a customer to fill out and electronically sign one section of a form and the sales representative or agent to complete another section of the form without invalidating each other’s signatures. Documents remain in XFA format instead of being converted to a flattened PDF so that documents can be accessed and edited in AdobeLiveCycle at different stages of the transaction for downstream processing. This enables organizations to leverage their current investment in forms and workflow solutions. .DOC & .ODT Documents Also new to version 3.8 of ApproveIt Web Server is the ability to upload and e-sign Microsoft Word (.doc) and OpenDocument (.odt) document formats. Business users can now upload .doc and .odt files into ApproveIt Web Server where they are then automatically converted into PDF format – the industry standard format for signing and archiving. Using ApproveIt Web Server’s signature template manager tool, business users can then easily prepare PDF documents for e- signing by defining who needs to sign and where. The ability to upload documents is especially important for business processes that take place in indirect sales and distribution channels. Independent sales representatives and agents have the ability to upload documents supplied by customers or agent-specific forms into the system to complete the transaction. Otherwise, the transaction would fall to paper.  “Version 3.8 of ApproveIt Web Server continues on Silanis’ commitment to deliver the most feature-rich solution for enabling straight-through processing in the independent agent/representative channel,” said Petrogiannis. “Support for ad-hoc, manual intervention during transactions is critical for ensuring adoption amongst agents.” Support for manual document uploading is also needed for business processes that are ad-hoc and people-driven in nature, such as e-contracting, non-disclosure agreements, standard operating procedures and engineering plans. Pagination Support To address the difficulty of viewing long documents online, ApproveIt Web Server now supports pagination. Pagination enables users to view electronic documents page by page rather than as one long continuous Web page where scrolling is required. Pagination improves the Web experience for customers who are applying for insurance, a mortgage, or other type of product or services where application documents and disclosures typically run 10+ pages.
