eSignLive Co-Founder Speaks on the Business, Legal and Technical Implications of Electronic Signatures at ARMA International Conference and Expo

E-signatures provide the evidence needed for auditable, legally enforceable business records, but unlike paper records, require no physical storage space, are not subject to re-keying errors, and do not cause unnecessary bottlenecks.The potential for cost savings from electronic signature adoption is nothing short of astounding.  The US Army is now leading the world’s largest e-forms implementation with the deployment of its Army Publishing Content Management System (APCMS).  The project, which has the capability of completely eliminating the Army’s paper-intensive processes, transforms business processes across the Army Enterprise with a shift away from traditional paper forms to Web-based, XML functionality and digital signatures. APCMS gives soldiers in combat theatres the ability to electronically transmit documents for signature between forward operating bases and headquarters units. The Army projects it will realize a $1.3 billion annual cost reduction just through the deployment of digital signatures as part of the APCMS system, and anticipates an additional $28 million in time savings through a reduction in effort around forms processing.
