eSignLive Answers Demand for Enterprise E-Signature Mobility

October 1, 2012

Anywhere, anytime access to electronic signatures and signing process delivered to remote agents, representatives and personnel

Montreal, QC, October 2, 2012 – Silanis, the leader in enterprise electronic signature solutions with the largest e-signature deployments, today announced the release of Mobile e-Sign™, a module that extends the capabilities of e-Sign Enterprise to mobile devices. Designed to answer an expressed demand from insurance, banking and government organizations wanting to enable remote staff and agents with mobile capability, Mobile e-Sign delivers an optimized e-signing experience for the iPad that includes offline operation and extended electronic evidence gathering, something no other mobile e-signature solution currently offers.

Insurance companies, banks and government departments are prioritizing mobile solutions for their agents and representatives because this group is one of the fastest growing adopters and biggest benefactors of mobile tablets. In fact, according to analyst firm Gartner, “Enterprise sales of media tablets will account for about 35 percent of total tablet sales sold in 2015.” For remote workers like insurance agents, financial advisors, bank representatives and military personnel, tablets are revolutionizing the way they provide service. By allowing a once paper-based transaction that took several visits to complete due to errors and missing signatures to be completed electronically with the aid of Mobile e-Sign, remote staff can now complete business transactions in one short visit or session with 100 percent accuracy.

Mobile e-Sign addresses the needs of agents and business users with:

  • Optimized customer experience – a streamlined user interface (UI) and configurable navigation, including sequential, menu-driven or lateral swiping, creates an optimal user experience while maximizing screen real estate  for document review. Signatures may be captured either by using a handwritten signature with a stylus or finger, or with click-to-sign. For customer who prefer to review documents on paper, users may adopt a hybrid approach where documents are reviewed on paper but the process remains electronic with bar coded documents that launch the e-signature process;
  • Anywhere, anytime signing – users can execute transactions online, completely offline or with limited connectivity. No matter the level of connectivity, the entire signing ceremony from launch through evidence to signature is captured electronically on the iPad with the completed transaction synchronized once re-connected;
  • Extended evidence – even when offline, the transaction is able to capture GPS coordinates, voice, video recordings and photos relevant to the transaction, like photos of car damage for an insurance claim.

“Analyst firm Forrester has said that the majority of electronic signature transactions will be launched from mobile devices by 2020. With Silanis bringing the richness of an enterprise e-signature platform to the mobile channel, we’re giving insurance, banking and government organizations the advantage to leverage a common e-signature solution across all distribution channels,” says Silanis CEO and co-founder Tommy Petrogiannis.

As a software development kit (SDK), Mobile e-Sign extends the functionality of Silanis’ flagship e-Sign Enterprise solution, which automates enforceable and regulated customer-facing transactions. More than just a capturing an electronic signature, e-Sign Enterprise manages the entire e-signature process including all documents, participants, business rules, exceptions and notifications to enable end-to-end straight-through processing. Mobile e-Sign supports the iPad platform for e-signature delivery via iOS apps. As the next step in a long-term mobility strategy, Silanis will extend Mobile e-Sign to support other platforms and HTML5 in 2013.
