eSignLive Showcases Electronic Approval Solutions at DoD Public Key Enabling Technical Forum
Montreal, QC, November 12, 2004 — Silanis Technology, the market leader in automating business approval processes, will be showcasing its public key enabled electronic approval solutions next week at the Department of Defense Public Key Enabling Technical Forum in Orlando, Florida. This Forum is a technical gathering of Public Key Technologists, which includes Biometric and Smart Card Technologists from the Department of Defense, the civilian US Government, Industry, and Academia.
In addition to showcasing solutions at booth 209 during the show’s exhibition hours, Silanis’ President, Tommy Petrogiannis, will also be participating in two panel discussions, “Digital Signature Implementation Challenges” and “Interoperability Across Digital Signature Products, Challenges and Progress To Date” on the first day of the event.
“Many organizations assume that simply adding support for digital signatures into current paper based processes is enough,” said Tommy Petrogiannis, president of Silanis. “However, to successfully implement paperless processes there is often more required than just adding a digital signature.”
Mr. Petrogiannis’ presentation will discuss the challenges of implementing real world approval solutions using digital signatures, and will focus on what else is needed above and beyond a digital signature in order to have a successful migration of a paper-based process to an electronic one.

The DoD Public Key Enabling (PKE) Technical Forum is a technical gathering of Public Key Technologists, and this year it is being expanded to also include Biometric and Smart Card Technologists from the Department of Defense, the civilian US Government, Industry, Academia and our English speaking Allied countries.
