Montreal, QC, April 14, 2004 — Silanis announced today Vice President Michael Laurie, has joined the Drug Information Association (DIA) Records Management and eArchiving Special Interest Area Community (SIAC). The DIA SIAC identifies professional needs in specific interest areas and provides information to meet these needs. The Records Management and eArchiving SIAC is looking into standards for electronic documents and records, and is addressing how the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) 21 CFR Part 11 regulation will affect archiving of electronic records.

"A great deal of work has been done by pharmaceutical companies to create and work with signed and non-signed electronic records,” said Michael Laurie, vice president of Silanis. “This effort to establish standards and guidelines in their archive processes is among the most important initiative being undertaken by the DIA.
