Enterprise, electronic signing solution chosen by the US Army earns eSignLive Advanced Government status with IBM

February 28, 2006

Montreal, QC, March 1 2006 — Silanis Technology, the industry’s most experienced electronic signature provider with more than two million government and commercial users, today announced that it has achieved ‘Advanced Industry-Optimized’ status in IBM’s government network.

The deal that sealed Silanis’ position was a joint enterprise, design win with IBM to supply the US Army with a centralized, Web-based e-forms solution that includes secure, electronic signatures. With this solution in place, the US Army expects to save $1.3 billion annually in administrative processing costs; reduce the time required to complete forms by 33%; and improve its efficiency and effectiveness in the field.

The electronic signature component of the solution is driven by ApproveIt® Desktop – a DoD JITC-certified, PKI-enabled, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software solution from Silanis. The software is being used today by more than 100 federal, civilian, state and local agencies. They include the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Headquarters Air Force CIO, Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), US Postal Service, and the General Services Administration (GSA).

In addition to eliminating the inefficiencies and cost of paper from daily government processes, ApproveIt® Desktop ensures reliable and auditable records needed to demonstrate compliance with applicable laws, standards, regulations and policies. The solution combines the security of a digital signature with a legally enforceable, electronic signature process, and can be used in both a PKI and non-PKI environment. The solution goes one step further by incorporating advanced electronic approval features to ensure ease-of-use, high user adoption and support for everyday, real-world signing applications.

ApproveIt® Desktop also provides government organizations with a flexible and scalable solution that can grow with their future enterprise needs. Sharing the same core signing engine, Silanis’ comprehensive suite of enterprise solutions, consisting of desktop, XHTML- and web-based products, enables electronic signing within both operational and transactional processes with the assurance that the solutions are cross-compatible.
