US Army Renews and Expands Contract with eSignLive for Mobile E-Signature and Transaction Management Capabilities

October 22, 2012

Montreal, QC, October 23, 2012 – Silanis, the leader in enterprise electronic signature solutions with the largest e-signature deployments, has announced the renewal of a significant contract with the US Army. As the most widely used electronic signature provider among leading government agencies including the US General Services Administration, Air Force Global Combat Support System and leading financial and insurance companies, Silanis will continue to provide the US Army with enterprise license support for electronic signatures. Nearly a decade after implementing the largest e-signature initiative in government to date, the US Army continues to progress towards a paperless operation.

In addition to its annual contract, the US Army has purchased mobile and transaction management capabilities through Silanis’ Mobile e-Sign™ and Transaction Manager™ modules. Using Mobile e-Sign, field personnel can e-sign munitions requisitions and submissions on an iPad using a US Department of Defense Common Access Card (smart card), in locations with full, limited or no online connectivity. Coupled with the Transaction Manager module, personnel can monitor, manage and report on any in-progress or completed transactions, bringing additional visibility and control to the US Army’s high volume of electronic transactions and moving processes forward faster through increased responsiveness and real-time data. The addition of these technologies speaks to the growing use of mobile devices within the US Army to enable timely decision-making and improve responsiveness to soldiers.

The US Army first began integrating Silanis' electronic signature solution into the APCMS in 2005. In addition to the substantial cost-savings, the solution helps to keep US Army personnel out of harms way by eliminating the need to send convoys into hostile territories in order to obtain signed approvals. Authorization can now be completed electronically from anywhere in the world. This project continues to represent the largest e-signature and e-forms deployment in the world.

Silanis' electronic signature solution is used in conjunction with IBM Content Manager and IBM Forms to also reduce cycle times, data-entry efforts and errors. The total cost savings attributed to adding e-signatures across the US Army’s paperless initiatives is $1.3 billion annually.
