OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois and ZURICH, Switzerland – April 28, 2009 - VASCO Data Security International, Inc. (Nasdaq: VDSI) (www.vasco.com) , a leading software security company specializing in authentication products, announces IDENTIKEY® Server 3.1. at Infosecurity Europe in London. IDENTIKEY is VASCO’s full blown authentication server for network and application security offering OTP and e-signature capability. IDENTIKEY is based on VASCO’s core VACMAN® technology and offers an authentication solution for several markets including Software as a Service (SaaS), e-gaming, online gambling, healthcare, automotive, e-banking and VPN access to corporate networks.

IDENTIKEY is adding an extra security layer to Internet-based applications. SaaS providers and customers of hosted applications, whether it is eCRM, eHRM, ERP,... can further enhance the security of their data online and protect them against data theft. By adding IDENTIKEY to their solution, they address the major concerns of security with hosted applications.

For certain vertical markets IDENTIKEY is ideally suited to protect assets whatever these are. For instance, in healthcare it can enhance confidentiality of patient files, in automotive it protects the electronic ordering process from the dealer network, in online gaming it makes sure that avatars cannot be kidnapped in the game and for online gambling it ensures that under age players are kept out.

IDENTIKEY can also be integrated by providers of managed services to offer authentication as a service. As a result, authentication is outsourced to a service partner who will invoice the customer for services rendered on a monthly basis while the customer focuses on its core business activities.

Because of IDENTIKEY’s easy setup two-factor authentication and e-signature can quickly be deployed in smaller and mid-sized banks thus protecting banking customers against the threats of Man-in-the-Middle attacks. It can be used for all banking services including retail banking, corporate banking, phone banking and mobile banking. Additionally it can also secure remote access for banking employees when accessing the banking network while working from home or being on the road.

IDENTIKEY also provides secure access for home workers, travelers and mobile staff who want access the corporate network and the business applications. The use of static password, the weakest link when it comes down to security, is replaced with a dynamic One-Time Password (OTP) generated by DIGIPASS®. The solution is highly scalable: applications and users can be added as the company grows.

IDENTIKEY can seamlessly be integrated in existing infrastructures, thanks to its RADIUS, Web and SOAP interfaces. The data storage can be integrated in Active Directory (AD) or other ODBC compliant databases and it can perform LDAP lookup on AD, ADAM and eDirectory. Furthermore the administrator disposes of a single interface for authentication, user management, DIGIPASS management, delegated administration, multiple domain support, auditing and reporting.

"The new features in IDENTIKEY have greatly expanded the opportunities to deploy two factor authentication in various target markets. For small enterprises we use our distribution network to offer companies plug-and-play security for remote access, in application security an extra security layer is added to web based applications and for smaller banks we effectively combat Man-in-the-Middle attacks.” says Jan Valcke, VASCO's President and COO.
