Hamburgische Landesbank, one of the top 20 banks in Germany, has chosen security technology from Belgium's VASCO to protect customers' online transactions. The bank is using VASCO's handheld Digipass technology. To access their accounts, customers need to know a personal PIN and have their uniquely programmed Digipass, which is slightly larger than a bank card, on hand. VASCO is working in partnership with Netlife, a German provider of solutions for Internet banking, e-payment, e-brokerage and mobile commerce. Digipass is integrated into the Internet banking system implemented by Netlife at Hamburgische Landesbank.
