Position Overview

The HR Administrator will support the HR department by providing administrative support across the department including processing bi-weekly payroll, maintain employee data across all systems and overseeing the administration of benefits programs (group insurance, pension and vacation). The successful incumbent will compile and organize information from multiple sources while consistently ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data. The HR Administrator will respond to general inquiries related to pay and benefits in a timely and professional manner.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll; Oversee distribution of records of employment, pay-stubs and checks as required
  • Maintain and update employee records and information
  • Compile, verify and organize payroll data (including but not limited to time off reports, overtime hours, salary adjustments, garnishments, and benefit deductions)
  • Administer benefits programs including group benefits and pension plans
  • Update vacation balances within internal HR system
  • Investigate, resolve and respond to any payroll or benefits questions or discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Maintains confidentiality and utilizes discretion related to private employee information
  • Remain current and up to date on relevant HR and Payroll legislation
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports for various department audits
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

 

Requirements

  • University of College degree in a related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in an administrative HR capacity
  • Previous experience processing payroll for staff of 100 or more an asset
  • Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and regulations
  • Exquisite math and numerical skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Excel
  • Previous experience with Ceridian and Workday considered a strong asset
  • Familiar with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
