eSignLive announces zero administration E-Sign support for JetForm FormFlow 99™ XML-based forms

August 9, 2000

Montreal, Qc, August 10, 2000 — Silanis Technology Inc., a leading developer of electronic approval management solutions, announced today the release of ApproveIt for JetForm FormFlow 99™. Featuring zero administration and automatic download, ApproveIt provides a fast and easy method for companies to add secure electronic signing capabilities to their existing FormFlow 99 XML-based forms, and enable individuals to sign Web forms right away.

"The development time needed to integrate electronic signatures into existing documents is a major concern for many Fortune 500 and 1000 companies," said Tommy Petrogiannis, President of Silanis Technology. "Most companies have already created hundreds of different document templates to standardize the way information is captured, whether it be in a purchase order, application form, bill of materials, or in other business processes. The last thing they want is to have to redesign all their documentation."

With ApproveIt's out-of-the-box support for FormFlow 99, a company's forms designer can drag and drop signature fields into existing FormFlow 99 forms without additional programming or changing their current design templates. ApproveIt also enables FormFlow 99 designers to easily configure signature fields to automatically insert dynamic data each time a person signs, such as the date and the person's name and title. Dynamic data placement is essential for duplicating a real-word signing process involving multiple signatures, and for signing and authenticating different sections of a form.

"Ensuring rapid user adoption is critical for the successful deployment of a company's electronic forms/signature solution," said David Welch, Vice President and General Manager, e-Forms business unit of JetForm Corporation. "The combined JetForm FormFlow 99 and Silanis ApproveIt offering meets this objective by making the signing of electronic forms a simple and intuitive process."

When a user accesses a FormFlow 99 form on a company's Intranet or Web site, a "click to sign" message prompts the user to sign a required empty field, while signature fields that have already been signed display the images of a handwritten signature. A checkmark by a signature illustrates that the signature is valid. A crossed out signature indicates that its linked content has been changed since it was originally signed and is no longer authentic. To e-sign, a user simply has to click on the ApproveIt signature block on the FormFlow form and enter his private password.

If it is the user's first time signing, a 'thin' version of ApproveIt is automatically downloaded and installed on his system. ApproveIt's wizard then guides the user to create his secure ePersona signature file by capturing the image of his handwritten signature using a PDA, scanner or digitizing tablet, creating a public and private key pair, and selecting a private password. If none of these devices are available to the user, he can fax his signature to Silanis's automated fax service and a digitized version will be e-mailed back to him to complete the creation of his secure ePersona signature file.

ApproveIt is available for $149.00 USD and also includes support for Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and PureEdge.
