eSignLive presents at Business Forms Management Association's 2006 Annual Symposium

May 18, 2006

Montreal, QC, May 19, 2006 — Silanis Technology, the industry’s most experienced electronic signature provider with more than two million users in business and government, announced today that Tommy Petrogiannis, Co-Founder and President, will present two educational seminars on electronic signatures at the Business Forms Management Association’s 2006 Annual Symposium , May 21-25.  The Phoenix conference represents BFMA's 37th annual international Symposium for forms and business process professionals.

The goal of the conference is to provide a venue for forms professionals to share strategies for addressing common challenges such as how data capture interfaces can better reflect underlying business processes. Within the conference’s 60 sessions, critical areas will addressed including workflow analysis, document design, e-forms programming, print production management and information distribution.

Forms professionals are key players in any paperless or automation initiatives. In this role, they recognize that electronic signatures are the last link to achieving a 100% paperless process - that without this ability, business process and forms will still fall to paper and any expected time, labour and cost savings will not be realized.

Mr. Petrogiannis’ first session will guide attendees through the process of understanding and gathering electronic signatures requirements from the business, operational, and technical stakeholders. His presentation will emphasize the importance of balancing risk and usability when making solution decisions. Entitled “eSignature Requirements Gathering for Effective Requests for Proposal”, the session is scheduled for Wednesday, 8:30 – 10:00 am.

For organizations leveraging the internet to conduct business and generate revenue, creating a legally enforceable contract or transaction is a major concern. The second session focuses on how to turn electronic forms into enforceable e-contracts, especially when bringing processes online. “One of toughest challenges organizations face when moving their business to the web is identifying what laws, regulations and policies apply to them, and how to go about meeting compliance requirements,” says Silanis Co-Founder and Vice President of Silanis, Michael Laurie. “If they fail to comply, they run the risk that their electronic records and agreements will not stand up in a court of law should they be disputed by the various parties involved.”

The challenge for many however is figuring out how to capture legally enforceable approvals with external parties in a secure, yet, easy manner. Mr. Petrogiannis will share real-world examples of how leading organizations have overcome these challenges and are using electronic forms and signatures to automate the contracting process with vendors, citizens, customers, and employees. This session is scheduled for Thursday, May 25, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
